OVER A WEEK ago, the beloved 1990s Channel 4 show TFI Friday returned for a one-off special.
The show, hosted by Chris Evans, featured appearances from the likes of Blur, Shaun Ryder and Liam Gallagher. In short, it was a 90s bonanza and left everyone with a case of the ~feels~.
The show was watched by 3.7 million viewers. In fact, it was so well-received that people immediately began petitioning Channel 4 to bring it back properly.
And today, people’s prayers were answered as host Chris Evans announced that the show would return for an 8-episode run before Christmas.
In a statement, Channel 4 said that recommissioning the series was a “no-brainer” following the success of the recent special.
Meanwhile, Chris Evans doesn’t seem psyched about it all.
Oh my goodness, are we really going to get to do this again? Looks like it – and leading into Christmas too. I might actually spontaneously explode on live television due to over excited-ness.‎ Does that still count as unpredictable cos I’ve said it now?
And people are already asking can they take part in Fat Lookalikes.
First Jurassic World, now TFI Friday?
The 90s are back, baby.
